Together for Change: A Mission Completed at Overcoming Faith Schools

When we first stepped into Overcoming Faith Schools in Kenya, the need was immediate and undeniable.

Children were learning in unsafe and overcrowded conditions. Meals were being prepared in unhygienic environments. Teachers and students struggled to even reach the schools due to poor road access.

And yet—despite all of this—there was hope.

Today, we’re honored to share what God has done through the Salty Life Foundation… because of your support.

Where We Started: Urgent Needs

Before these projects began, the schools faced critical challenges:

• No safe kitchens → cooking in smoky, unsanitary spaces near restrooms

• Dangerous roads → limiting access for students and teachers

• Overcrowded classrooms → children learning in churches and open areas

• Overcrowded dormitories → multiple children sharing beds

• No electricity → no access to digital learning

• Unsecured grounds → safety risks for both students and staff

These weren’t just inconveniences—these were barriers to education, safety, and dignity.

What We’ve Accomplished Together

Because of generous giving and unwavering faith, real change has taken place.

Infrastructure, Roads & Campus Improvements

Major upgrades were completed to improve accessibility, safety, and the overall learning environment.

• Secure feeder roads were constructed for both the Bunyore and Nambale campuses

• Road systems were improved for safer and more reliable transportation

• Landscaping enhancements at the Bunyore campus helped restore and protect the environment

• School buildings were refreshed with new paint and upgraded tile flooring, creating clean, safe, and welcoming spaces

• Church facilities on the premises were renovated, improving shared community spaces

These changes mean students and teachers can now arrive safely—and learn in environments that reflect dignity and care.

Security & Safety Improvements

Creating a safe environment was essential.

• Brick security fencing and protective wire installed around all school premises

• Significantly improved safety for students, staff, and facilities

These changes mean students and staff can learn, live, and grow in a safe, protected environment where they can focus on education without fear.

Solar Installation & Electricity Access

A major transformation across all campuses.

• Solar power was installed at all three schools

• Students and teachers now have access to electricity and digital learning opportunities

This opens the door to a completely new level of education and growth.

Kitchen Upgrades & Energy Efficiency

Safe, hygienic cooking is no longer a challenge.

• Energy-saving stoves were installed across the schools

• Cooking environments are now cleaner, safer, and more efficient

This protects both health and the environment.

Dormitory & Bedding Improvements

Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to rest.

• Custom bunk beds were designed to accommodate more children safely

• All new bedding was provided, replacing overcrowded and inadequate sleeping arrangements

This brings dignity, comfort, and better rest to growing children.

Textbooks, Classroom Furniture & Curriculum Expansion

Education is the heartbeat of these schools—and now, it’s stronger than ever.

• Nearly $30,000 worth of textbooks and teacher guides were donated

• Materials now align with government curriculum standards

• All new desks and chairs were provided for classrooms, giving students a proper place to learn

Students and teachers finally have the tools—and the environment—they need to succeed.

Janitorial & Sanitation Support

Clean environments are essential for healthy learning.

• All three schools received critical janitorial supplies

• Schools are now equipped for proper daily cleaning and sanitation

A simple but powerful step toward health and dignity.

Water Access & Storage Improvements

Reliable access to clean water is essential for health, hygiene, and daily operations.

• Adequate water storage systems were installed across all schools

• Ensures consistent access to water for cooking, cleaning, and sanitation

• Provides stability during dry periods and water shortages

This upgrade plays a critical role in protecting the health and well-being of every child and staff member.
